New/Prospective players to preferably use WhatsApp and contact ONLY ONE of Mark or Mike in first instance. New/prospective players MUST already be a member of Mawdesley u3a AND MUST CONTACT MIKE OR MARK before attending a session.

Our Pickleball Group is now firmly established with 4 courts (16 players and 4 resting) used every week. We meet weekly on Thursdays from 1.15-3.15 pm at Chorley Leisure Centre. We are therefore still happy to take new members into the Group, and as we are all still beginners no newcomer need feel left behind.

However, in order to manage any initial coaching the number of brand new/prospective players permitted in any one week is 2.   New/prospective players are those who have never played before and require coaching.

Please note that anyone who is NOT a current member of Mawdesley u3a may NOT play. 

Pickleball is:

• Fun - with elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis
• Played on a badminton-sized court and a low net
• Played with a light paddle and a plastic ball with holes
• Low impact but good exercise
• Designed to take away any advantage to big hitters – no volleying is allowed close to the
  net!
• Making it ideal and enjoyable for players of all ages and skill levels
  We don’t compete, we just play and have fun.

Playing alternate games of about 10 minutes each which allows us opportunities to play, relax
and socialise with other Members.
Equipment – paddles and balls - will be provided so:
Come along in suitable clothes with a drink, and have a GREAT time.
Cost £6 payable on the day, and bring a drink if you think you’ll need refreshment.
