The 2026 programme for Spring is as follows:
Upcoming Meetings:
Usually the last Tuesday in the Month between 13.15-15.00 (with some exceptions):
Tuesday 25th August - 1.15-3.00pm: David (Group Leader) will lead a workshop on: 'Effective Storytelling With Photography'. David will give an overview of its importance and how to instill storytelling elements into your photography. Through a variety of case studies we will examine how camera controls (aperture, shutter speed, white balance etc) , different lenses and post-processing can make a difference in the effectiveness of a image telling a story and capture the attention of the viewer. This exercise is especially relevant in your choice of photographs for the November Exhibition.
Tuesday 29th September : 1.15-3.00pm - A presentation by Paul Williamson from Chorley u3a: 'From Arizona to Alcatraz' is a series of photos taken on a coach holiday in the USA. It begins in the settlement of the Sinagua Indians in the Sonoran Desert. From there we tread in the steps of John Wayne and John Ford to visit Monument Valley, the Grand Canyon, Glen Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion Canyon to marvel at the geology of the land. From the sublime peace of Zion Canyon to the ridiculous mayhem of Las Vegas. Finally San Fransisco and a visit to Alcatraz Island (from where Sean Connery escaped in the movie, "The Rock").
Tuesday 3rd November 10.00-11.45am: Bill Soens (Ormskirk & Aughton u3a) presentation on: Ansell Adams (details to follow)

u3a Eye runs a rolling photography project to encourage members to take and submit pictures of their surroundings. They post a different theme bi-monthly and invite members to submit their photo on that topic.
"This is not a competition and it is not only about your photographic skill – they are looking for any interesting photos and interpretations of the theme. Anything which has captured your imagination or caught your eye.
At the end of every deadline, the u3Eye team choose and publish up to 15 photos in the online gallery"
The photos below have been submitted by group members to u3aEye, and selected for publication online
