Music styles used for Line Dancing include pop, swing, rock & roll, as well as country & western and even a waltz rhythm.
This is a fun way of exercising to music and remembering the dances provides a workout for the little grey cells as well!
We dance in Mawdesley Village Hall on Thursday afternoons from 1.30 - 3.00 pm.
One of the documents below is a list of the dances we have introduced so far and the level of the dance is also included. The majority of our dances are either Absolute Beginner or Beginner Level dances. Many of them can be watched on YouTube which is a very helpful way of reviewing the steps and the count. The second document is a list of Line dancing steps and this gives an explanation of the terms used when we are describing the sequence of steps in a dance.
Our line dancing is now organised by a small team of members - Carole, Gillian, Josie, Sandra and Pauline. Help on the dance floor during the dances is also provided by our experienced dancers who dance on each of the 4 "walls" so that the less experienced dancers have someone to follow when we turn to a new "wall".
We are happy to see complete Beginners and also dancers who have maybe not danced for some years.
Come and meet us and see what we do.
Please contact Gillian first if you are interested in coming along to these Line Dancing sessions.
