PADEL AT PRESTON

The PADEL group is now running very successfully and enjoyably. Everyone is very welcome to join, or just give it a try. All the members of the group find it great fun, and excellent exercise with a purpose. It is a mixed sex, age and skill level group. It is run as an inclusive session. In this group we want to play well, and then play better, and enjoy it. It gives us the greatest satisfaction when we have a decent rally. We are not wanting to have Serve, Volley and win. We are more interested in having a good game, than winning at all costs.

I saw that the Pickleball team had great success in the Championships, and was delighted for them - we are not at that level, and never will be.   I think that we may play Social Padel, but by gum, we all enjoy it. IT IS FUN!    So, First-time players and Regular players please come along and try us. It might, or might not, be for you

Padel is a fast-growing racket sport that combines elements of tennis and squash. It’s played in doubles on an enclosed court smaller than the size of a tennis court, with solid, stringless rackets and a low-compression ball. The walls are in play, making for exciting rallies and clever tactics.

Padel is easy to learn, less physically demanding than tennis, and highly sociable – perfect for all ages and abilities. Come and give it a try!

Here is a video showing how it is played
